Membership

Applications for full membership of the Australasian Institute of Emergency Services will be considered from persons who are at least 18 years of age and who have a role in the emergency management or emergency services sectors.

Admission as a member may be granted if in the opinion of the Board the applicant meets all other conditions of membership.

As a truly representative Institute our members are drawn from:

  • Fire and Rescue Services
  • Chaplains and pastoral carers to the emergency services
  • Community Services
  • Emergency Equipment Industry
  • Emergency Management Organisations
  • Health, Medical and Nursing Services
  • Lifeguards and Lifesavers
  • Maritime Rescue
  • Mines Rescue
  • Police Services
  • State Emergency Services
  • and other Volunteer Rescue Associations

Membership

General membership is available to individuals that work in the emergency management and emergency services sectors.

Corporate Membership

Applications for corporate membership are welcome from any emergency service or emergency management organisation or group or any associated business or organisation.
The AIES is proud to acknowledge our corporate members by displaying their corporate logo, with direct links to their website, on our corporate members page. Corporate members receive a certificate of membership and a bronze plaque in acknowledgement of membership and are welcome to provide articles for inclusion in our national journal

What Does Membership Cost

Annual membership fees are:

  • Members: $80
  • Fellows: $100
  • Corporate Subscription: $500

Full time student and retired members:

A reduced AIES membership fee rate of 50% of the full membership fee will apply for Australian Government Concession Card holders and full-time students.

Supporting evidence will need to be provided to the Membership Officer when paying the membership fee. Supporting evidence may include:

  • A scan of the Australian Government Concession Card
  • A scan of a current student ID card showing full-time enrolment or a current enrolment letter from their institution

Email the evidence to membership@aies.net.au when paying your fees.

Supporting evidence will be sighted and deleted. AIES will not be keeping any information on file and information will need to be supplied each year.

Applications for Membership

All applications for membership must be submitted using our online application forms that can be accessed by clicking on the links below. Membership applications are reviewed by the AIES Board.

Payment of the nomination and membership fee must accompany your application. Should an application for membership be unsuccessful the membership fee will be reimbursed.

Please note that all applicants must provide a valid email address in their application. When an application is approved applicants will be immediately notified by email.
